The mission of the Sacramento Coalition for Working Families (SCWF) is to strengthen working families by connecting them to a variety of underutilized resources in the communities in which they live and work.  SCWF helps promote programs such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and free tax assistance for income-eligible families. SCWF is made up of municipal leaders from all levels of government, non-profit and private organizations including: State Assemblymember Dave Jones, Mayor Heather Fargo, Congresswoman Doris Matsui, State Senator Deborah V. Ortiz, The Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Community Services Planning Council. The coalition was formed in October 2005 to help promote awareness about the EITC and other benefits for low-income working families.
